Making Our Voices Heard
•
Good Afternoon,
As I am sitting here enjoying the beautiful fall day reflecting on the my thoughts of the Election Doing my civic duty and VOTED, I hope you all did yourselves, for your voice matters. I don’t need to know who anyone voted; for the results will speak for the the Americans.
In my opinion, the true essence of elections has been lost over the decades. Candidates often resort to bad-mouthing each other, avoiding the people’s questions, and raising millions for signs, private planes, and commercials. While I understand that running a campaign requires money, I question why it needs to be in the millions. What happens to the people’s money once the campaign is over? I believe that any leftover funds should go back to the American people, especially if the candidate wins. This would show that the people who helped them win are valued and that their contributions are being reinvested in the country.
I am looking for ways to bring us all together and ensure that all American voices are heard. As a woman with disabilities, I know all too well how my voice has often been muted. I believe that as Americans and, most importantly, as humans, we need to stop for a moment and place ourselves in others’ shoes. The old phrase, “you don’t know what someone is going through until you step in their shoes,” is so true.
Currently, I am in school to obtain my Bachelor’s in Writing and will be sharing my thoughts and work. I am eager to hear your thoughts especially what’s important to you. What topics you would like to know more about? I will certainly research and share what I learn about these topics.
Well for now I will let you go. I hope that you have a Blessed Day
SnowFairy,
